Students use the design process to investigate, explore, create and analyse whilst designing and making a variety of products.These units of work will provide a bank of skills for when the students choose to study Product Design, or Fashion and Textiles, or Food and Catering at KS4.This course typically leads to Engineering or Design based Degrees, although the many Universities like this course as it demonstrates problem solving abilities.
They also learn about becoming ‘market-savvy’ having to brand their products to suit their identified Target Markets.
KS3 in Design and Technology In KS3, students complete 4 units of work throughout the year, lasting around 10 weeks.
