They continue to make excuses for why they feel their actions for separating calves from their mothers are justified.So, there is no reason why any more orcas should be living in tanks....The Members are related by blood and remain together for life.They hunt play, socialize, and rest as a cohesive group....The debate now is whether Beluga whales should be able to be taken out of their natural environment and put into aquariums around the United States.Although a few years ago the capturing of wild Belugas has been turned down by the federal government, it is now being reevaluated and may be accepted....- Sea World hardly has enough room in their tanks for one massive killer whale, so imagine them trying to squeeze in two so then they could share their social interactions with one another like so many orcas do in a pod together.These pods to the whales are very much like a family, “Orcas live in closely knit, highly complex social groups (pods) typically numbering five to twenty-five members.Each pod is unique and does not have the same techniques and characteristics as every other pod.These whales have a variety of communication sounds that are specific to their pod.
